Join Artistic Director Rob Kempson as he interviews Fiona Sauder, Artistic Director of Bad Hats Theatre and the playwright of Bad Hats Theatre’s Alice in Wonderland. You’ll hear about the power of adaptation, what it takes to reimagine a classic, and how new musicals are created in Canada.

Step On Stage - June 18, 4:30 - 6 pm

Take a backstage tour of our beautiful set for Waitress, the Musical, hosted by Director of Production Katherine Smith. You’ll see how all the moving parts come together to create stage magic and hear about what it takes to get a world-class set on stage at the Capitol. Join us after the matinee on Wednesday, June 18 for your glimpse of what goes on backstage!

The World of Wings - July 23, 4:30 - 6 pm

Putting on a production that’s all about hair means entering the world of wigs! Join members of our production team after the matinee on Wednesday, July 23 to learn more about how we put haircuts on stage in our production of Steel Magnolias.

The Makings of Rez Gas - August 9, 1 - 2 pm

Join us during the annual Port Hope Arts Festival to hear about the work that’s been created locally right here at the Capitol! Cale Crowe and Genevieve Adam, the writers of Rez Gas, will share what it takes to make a local musical that can take the world by storm. They’ll share backstage stories, the highs and lows of the writing process, and how to realize a musical out of the kernel of an idea.
