This weekend offers a different path through grief—not around it, not over it, but through it into expansion. The land will hold us. The fire will witness us. Grief may transform, as it naturally does when given space, into a deeper awareness of the love, care, and connection present in our lives and in the world around us. Inspired by teachings such as those of Martín Prechtel, and trained in the Tzutujil Maya tradition, we recognize that expressing grief aloud is a natural way to honour what we have loved, lost, or longed for.
Throughout the weekend, nature immersion and reflective practices will invite you into a quiet, nurturing, and healing connection with the land. You will be guided in short meditations and yoga/breath-work (no experience needed) to support presence, ease, and self-compassion. There will be opportunities to sit in a circle and share, to connect around meals, and to experience warm, supportive connections with others. Creative and reflective practices, guided by the rhythms and presence of the land, will provide space to listen, observe, and allow insight or understanding to arise naturally.
